Advisory Leader for CEB’s HR Practice
Aaron McEwan is an advisory leader for CEB’s HR Practice, where he works with Chief Human Resources Officers, Heads of L&D and Heads of Recruitment as they deliver on critical business objectives through the execution of successful talent and functional HR strategies. With particular expertise in leadership development and executive coaching, he understands the impact of insight on performance. He believes that great ideas, well implemented, have the power to enable the success of individuals, organisations, and the world. He is dedicated to helping executives harness insights derived from the world’s best companies to unlock the potential of their greatest assets, their people.
Aaron’s passion for great ideas and performance is not limited to the corporate world. Many years spent writing and performing original music have taught him that humility, honesty and human connection sit at the heart of great songs and great performances. So it is with leadership and managing talent, making his role as an Advisory Leader at CEB a natural fit.
With close to 20 years’ experience in Talent Management and HR Consulting under his belt, Aaron appreciates how essential talent is to organisational performance and growth. He works closely with senior executives to evolve their HR strategies as they take their business forward, innovate and challenge standard HR practice.
Aaron is also intimately familiar with the challenges businesses face when it comes to attracting and retaining top talent in an increasingly competitive marketplace. He frequently guides his members toward the most progressive tools and practices to ensure that they are applying the same level of management rigor to their talent investments as they do to other critical corporate assets, ensuring ongoing employee engagement and breakthrough performance delivery.
A well-respected speaker, Aaron is a regular at international conferences and corporate seminars, speaking on the topics of executive coaching, leadership development and how businesses can nurture a talent pipeline of high-potential candidates.
Alongside his role at CEB, Aaron serves as Deputy Chair for the Australian Psychological Society’s Interest Group in Coaching Psychology and as an Advisory Board Member of CFO 2015, a network dedicated to identifying key issues affecting CFOs. Within both organisations Aaron shares knowledge, provides guidance and aimes to achieve positive industry change.
Prior to joining CEB, Aaron held a variety of leadership and senior consulting positions at Human Capital firms including the Opic Group, Hudson Global Resources and Lee Hecht Harrison. He holds a Bachelor of Behavioural Science and a graduate diploma in Psychology from Griffith University and is currently completing his master's degree in Coaching Psychology through Sydney University. Born and raised in rural Queensland, Aaron now lives with his partner and son in Sydney, New South Wales, where he continues to pursue his passion for music and great ideas.
