Cloud Computing

IT leaders’ projections for the future distribution of capacity-whether conservative or more radical-reflect a common shift toward a model of "multi-state" Infrastructure, where capacity is hosted over multiple platforms.

Data from CEB’s Emerging Technology Roadmap has shown that private cloud based solutions are already mainstream, and public cloud deployments (both Infrastructure as a service and platform as a service) will be mainstream this year. Much of this is driven by Infrastructure organizations rapidly shifting to public and private cloud environments in response to greater speed-to-market expectations of their customers.

CEB recommends that IT and Infrastructure leaders plan for a hybrid future and the coexistence of cloud and legacy models.
