Creating a Culture that Performs

Accordion1

Only 31% of HR leaders believe their organization has the culture it needs to drive future performance. Complex organizational structures, rapidly evolving competitive environments, and disruptive trends impacting the workforce leave many CHROs unsure of their organization’s current culture(s), uncertain whether updates are needed, and unable to sufficiently embed culture to drive desired employee behaviors. Leading organizations realize they can create an aligned culture faster and more cost-effectively by aligning key processes in employees’ workflow, in addition to OR before, aligning influential people in employees' networks.

Reimagine Recruiting & Assessment

Recruiting in the Digital Enterprise

Accordion1

To remain competitive, organizations across industries are digitalizing their business models, service delivery, and operations.  This digital transformation places strain on the recruiting service delivery model, which is challenged by symptoms of digital change like increasing variation in requisitions, greater volatility in hiring volume, and unrealistic hiring manager expectations.  The current service delivery model not only fails to fill critical talent roles quickly; it also cannot sustainably support the long-term digital transformation of the enterprise given flat budgets and staffing.

The best organizations are redesigning their Recruiting service delivery model to quickly fill critical talent roles for a business in digital transition, keep pace with hiring needs in an era of accelerated change, and better match emerging talent needs with shifting labor market supply.

Reimagine Diversity & Inclusion

Building Inclusive Leaders

Accordion1

Leaders that build a more inclusive environment get better results. But the question that HR executives face is how do they support their leaders to build a more inclusive environment? In this session we will share the profiles, strategies, and activities that the most inclusive leaders engage in to improve the talent and business outcomes of their organization.

Reimagine Talent & Learning Analytics

A New Framework for World-leading Learning Analytics

Accordion1

L&D organizations often struggle with measuring the impact of learning programs. Certainly, Kirkpatrick’s 4-Levels of Evaluation and Phillips’s ROI Methodology provide insight and guidance, but often more than the model is needed to meet the information needs of the business. During this session, we will share world-class measurement practices that incorporate measurement models (e.g., Kirkpatrick and Phillips), leverage technology and apply change management principles to transform L&D.

The Importance of the Talent Profile, a CHRO Peer Conversation

Presented By:

Accordion1

We’ve long heard about integrated talent management, but how do we pull it off? In this peer discussion with Heads of HR, we’ll talk about the importance of getting the talent profile right. How do we capture internal employee data that is more relevant than LinkedIn and information available in the public domain? How do we leverage talent profiles to promote from within and help the workforce to realize career paths? How do we create an internal talent marketplace? Join us for an Executive Boardroom conversation moderated by Cara Capretta, Vice President of Oracle’s Human Capital Transformation Practice that will focus on employee development strategies targeted to positively impact employee engagement and retention.

Reimagine Development & Performance

Addressing Pay Equity

Accordion1

Total Rewards executives feel pressure from all sides to close pay gaps—from the CEO to the customer. Pay equity has increasingly become a legal, talent, and reputational risk. This research will address how progressive companies are identifying and eliminating pay gaps, and what you should do to stay ahead of this issue at your organization.

Building Bench Strength: Identifying and Developing Future Stars

Accordion1

As organizations become flatter, and as the profile of the high performer evolves rapidly, organizations need to adopt a more flexible approach that identifies and builds future stars who will perform well in a wide variety of roles and contexts. As a foundation for success, organizations must clearly define what they are looking for when they measure high-potential, embed a systematic and objective identification process and embed experiential learning to accelerate HIPO readiness. The question then is ‘how can organizations develop HIPO strategies that are agile enough to address the rapidly changing needs of both the organization and its most promising employees?’ In this session, we will share CEB’s latest HIPO research and guest speakers from The Dow Chemical Company and General Dynamics Information Technology will reflect on how their current strategies reflect the CEB research imperatives to ensure they are moving at the speed of business.

Creating a Common Vision of Digitalization for the Business and HR

Accordion1

There’s no doubt that digitalization—the use of data and technology to enhance existing products and services, improve channel coordination and performance, and optimize enterprise activities and processes—is a pressing business issue. Eighty-seven percent of executives agree digitalization is a priority for their company, yet only 27% of senior executives have a cohesive digitalization strategy across the enterprise. The lack of a cohesive definition of, and strategy for, digitization presents a major opportunity for Chief HR Officers and other senior HR executives to create a common understanding of digitalization with their business leaders and craft a corresponding talent strategy to help their CEO.

AI is Transforming the Candidate & Employee Experience

Presented By:

Accordion1

Technological changes have advanced humanity since the dawn of time. And now, we’re hearing everyday how AI is going to take our jobs - which will either be a great thing or a horrible thing (flip a coin). Come enjoy a journey through the history of work and the transformation of how humans get things done. We’ll shine a light on a future where the machines give us an opportunity to do the jobs that make us better at being human - while at the same time - threatening the foundation of the way we produce, contribute, and earn a living. Are you ready for the future that’s coming sooner than you think?

Drive a High-Performance Organization with Empathy at the Core

Presented By:

Accordion2

High expectations alone do not drive results. Having a focus on the endgame starts back at the beginning, at the cultural core. Through modern and continuous performance management we have the power to connect our employees to purpose, ensure they know how they are valued, have empathy for their challenges and demonstrate active care about their development. Performance Management might just be the secret ingredient to empowering a workforce and embedding workplace culture. We must re-imagine a world where high expectations are matched with a high degree of empathy. Could this inspire a new path to productivity? As a driving force behind human behavior, empathy is a skill that can be learned, and with a new lens on performance management, organizations can nurture a workplace environment that helps people reach their ultimate potential.

Two of the fastest moving technology waves, IoT and AI, are converging with the promise of redefining mobility, jobs, housing, food production, and more. David Rose, AI entrepreneur, author of Enchanted Objects, and MIT Media Lab researcher, takes on this brave new world with a uniquely humanistic and optimistic lens. How will our relationship to technology and the so-called “smart city” change in a world of self-driving cars, robotic homes, ambient information displays, and seductive conversational agents?

4.45 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Mental Health: The “Not-So Hidden Factor”

Accordion1

As we become better aware of the prevalence of mental health conditions in the workplace, we need to re-engineer our approach to assessing performance. The constant changes in technology, the pace at which we need to adapt to succeed, and the loss of personal interaction have become significant sources of stress at all levels, in all industries.  This reality of the workplace becomes harder to manage when individuals experience undiagnosed or untreated mental health issues. Strategies to improve performance that fail to factor in the potential need for mental health care are doomed to fail. In these litigious times most of the advice is directed at focusing on the impact of the behavior and developing operational solutions to correct it. Recognizing the manner in which mental health issues manifest at work and training our leadership teams to recognize them will not only create a better work environment but may become the portal towards a healthier workforce .

Managing Your Employment Brand in an Information Rich Era

Accordion1

The growing abundance of candidate focused platforms and information sites makes the labor market increasingly transparent for candidates and increasingly difficult for organizations to manage perceptions of their employment brand. This is particularly problematic as competition for talent continues to intensify, with over 90% of the S&P 100 and two-thirds of the FTSE 100 companies targeting most of their recruitment efforts at just over 20 in-demand roles. In this session, learn how the best organizations manage their brand as a living asset, not a static message, to better compete for critical talent.

Maintaining a balance between these three ingredients is very challenging in the current era of big data analytics. As the analytics community matures, prioritisation of work, team growth and structure, business alignment, technology investment, experimentation, and sponsorship are key to success. Arun Chibamdaram, head of the Global HR Analytics team at Pfizer, will highlight how each of these areas are applicable to organizations of any size in order to create a successful talent analytics process. Linking Leadership Performance to Business Outcomes: The Power of Context

Accordion1

Consideration of context – the specific challenges within a role – in leader selection and development has become increasingly important. Companies and vendors alike are working to integrate context into their leadership programs; however, considering nearly 50% of all leaders fail to meet their objectives after moving into a new role, the methods used to define and apply context in decision-making are highly variable and unproven. In this session, learn about how we are supporting leadership selection and development today, and our plans for the near future as we complete the largest research study in over 25 years to understand and enable leader performance. Our aspiration with the research -- and subsequent assessment services -- is to increase by 3x how you can accurately predict the likelihood of success for leaders in new positions by effectively applying role, team, and organizational context to the selection process.

Leveraging Labor Market Analytics to Drive Business Impact

Accordion1

As Talent Analytics and Talent Acquisition functions mature, they are seeking to integrate external labor market data with internal data and other inputs to increase the quality and impact of their decision support to the business.  External labor market data can complement other types of data to help organizations to see the full picture, make better decisions, and build more actionable talent strategies. The net result is HR and Recruiting stakeholders who are capable of advising the business on (often changing) talent needs rather than simply acting as service deliverers. In this panel discussion, we will hear from several HR experts who are using labor market analytics to advance their function’s decision-support capabilities to the business.

Shifting the Measurement Paradigm: Capturing the Value of Informal Learning

Accordion1

As learning changes, measurement must also change. The intersection of new technologies and a new generation of workers is transforming the learning ecosystem. While L&D still offers formal learning programs via ILT, VILT and elearning, the size, variety and accessibility of learning content is changing. As the variety increases, learning leaders find it more and more difficult to put a finger on the best approach to measure whether learning is occurring and whether it is effective. It is even harder to determine whether learning is aligning to business goals and influencing those goals in a meaningful way. Join us for this session to learn about best practices with regards to measurement. There will also be an opportunity to share your joys, frustrations and insights about the new learning ecosystem and how you are showing value to your stakeholders.
