Health Care Reform

More than one-third may switch to health care exchanges.

According to our research, while only 6% of companies are “somewhat likely” to consider exchanges for providing health care coverage to employees in 2014, 36% (a six-fold increase) are contemplating exchanges for 2017.

Lower/more sustainable health care costs is the number one driver for organizations to consider health care exchanges. The most effective health care cost containment strategies include the following elements:

  • Designs emphasize elements that employees most value
  • Drive true commitment to healthy behaviors, not just participation in one-off wellness programs
  • Education to help employees intelligently navigate their health care plans and make informed choices
  • Vendor relationships that are initiated and managed by the benefits and procurement teams, not external brokers or consultants
