Why is Gartner acquiring CEB? How will this combination benefit clients?

Gartner has known of and admired CEB for many years, and is excited about the many benefits this combination will deliver to all our clients.

  • Gartner will expand CEB's existing best practice and talent management insights for leaders in large enterprises and introduce them to clients in the midsize enterprise segment, where Gartner has a more extensive market presence.
  • Gartner will develop a comprehensive suite of new syndicated research and advisory products, leveraging CEB’s existing strength in HR, sales, finance and legal, that will be introduced to clients worldwide.
  • We will introduce CEB's clients to Gartner's expertise in technology, as decision making in this area is increasingly taking place across a wider range of functional roles beyond IT.
  • Together, we will provide a comprehensive and differentiated suite of advisory services aligned to the mission-critical priorities of virtually all functional business leaders across every industry and size of enterprise worldwide to help clients make the right decisions with confidence.

Will Gartner clients automatically get access to CEB's services and vice versa?

No. Gartner and CEB offerings will continue to be offered separately. We will also develop new products and will share more information once available

Will this acquisition have any impact on products and services I receive? Will existing contracts continue to be honored? Will future contracts be negotiated in the same manner?

Existing contracts will continue to be honored in accordance with their terms and all business will continue in normal course.

In the coming months, we will be excited to introduce new services to help you make the right decisions with confidence.

Does my point of contact at Gartner change?

No. Your sales and delivery contacts will remain the same.

Does my point of contact at CEB change?

No. All of your contacts will remain the same.

What is happening with the CEB brand?

One difference CEB clients will see during the integration with Gartner is a simple visual reminder that CEB is now Gartner. The logo is to the rightbelow. Any other changes to the CEB brand will be communicated directly to clients as decisions are made.

How will CEB staff contact information change?

Starting 15 May, our employee e-mail addresses will be presented  as firstname.lastname@gartner.com. Messages arriving in your inbox will still note your CEB contact’s name, but you might see your contact’s new e-mail address in our new personal e-mail signatures. We’ve modified them to remind you across the year that CEB offerings are now provided by Gartner.

Do I need to do anything about this change?

Glad you asked! The next time you receive an e-mail from your contact, please update his/her e-mail address in your contacts file. You can simply copy and paste the address after you open the message.

How will I recognize your newsletter when it arrives in my inbox?

The newsletter name and even the e-mail address it comes from are not changing at this time. Only individual employee e-mail addresses have changed for now.

Other messages I receive from you still come from @cebglobal.com, and the names in my inbox haven’t changed. Why is that?

Only individual employee e-mail addresses have changed. E-mail addresses for messages sent to groups of members and clients, or sent from our member and public websites, are not changing at this time.

My company whitelisted e-mails from you. Will your e-mails now be blocked by our firewall?

No. E-mails sent by our individual employees will still go through your corporate firewall.
