John Fishback is a principal executive advisor in CEB’s Financial Services practice, where he focuses primarily on banking. John is a part of the Commercial Banking and Retail Banking Leadership Council research teams, helping to shape their research agendas.
His primary responsibility is to the members of the Retail Banking and Commercial Banking Executive Circles, which gather the heads of those lines of business from the most important banks in North America. In that role, he both sets the agenda for those Circles to drive practical conversation between industry leaders and ensures the propriety and safety of the group’s conversations.
Across two decades of work inside of and outside of CEB, John has worked in sales and relationship management, served as faculty for CEB’s Leadership Academy services, coached speakers for the World Economic Forum at Davos and Finovate (including five best-of-show winners), and given a TEDx talk in his hometown. As CEB developed the Executive Circles business, he had the privilege of launching the Small Business Executive Circle and the Treasury Management Executive Circle, and of representing CEB to the Investment Management Executive Circle.
John sits on the boards of Fishback Financial Corporation, a community bank holding company, and of First Bank & Trust of Brookings, SD. He holds a BA from Georgetown University and a MA from New York University.
